Southern California Feb. 1st to 6th

Feb. 1st
Sunny morning but turned cloudy. Did blog. We went to the welcome wine and cheese party with Brian and Shirley. After some wine and appetizers the six of us walked across the street to a Chinese restaurant. We had a good meal and a fun evening.
Feb. 2nd
We went to the Resort's bake and craft sale at 9am and picked up a few items,a cool cloudy day. The six of us hopped in our truck and went to the Desert Hills Factory Outlet Shops-over 150 stores near Palm Springs. We had lunch and spent a enjoyable afternoon shopping. Shirley,Ralph and I went to the dance 7-10 pm $6.00 Tony Lopez and Highway 91 playing. (the rest were too tired to go) Ralph and Shirley danced to YMCA. The resor does not have a liquor license but you can bring BYOB to any function. The band was very good.
Feb. 3rd
Cold and rain ing all day. Shirley and I went with the Brook's to San Bernadino(1 hour away) to Campers Village and Costco. It was very foggy driving through the mountains. I bought a new 9x12 RV Mat. When we came back we joined Ralph and Brian at the Super Bowl Party. We enjoyed chili hotdogs for $2.50 .
Feb. 4th
It finally stopped raining. I did some laundry before we all went to Canada Day at 4pm. We brought our own meat,appetizers and drinks. They supplied potato,baked beans,salad and pie for $3.00 each. 280 pre sold tickets sold out in 1.5 hours. The ball room was decorated with red/white balloons Canada Flags etc. Over 80 door prises were given away.(Shirley won a blewberry pie) Eighteen large BBQ's were set up by the pool. We wore red and white with removable canadian tatoos on our faces. There storie,jokes and sing alongs it was a great time.
Feb.5th
Sunny 18 Deg.C. We left at 9am for a 2 hour drive south and west toward the Pacific Ocean. We climbed through the mountains through switch back roads over ollking Lake Elisnore(beautiful).We walked around San Juan Cappistrano-the picturesque city known for the thousands of swallows that return in March. We had a tasty lunch on the patio and toured the oldest mission in California. Lots of history,blooming cacti,birds of paradse and other flowers. We drove south to the city of Oceanside and walked the beach of the Pacific Ocean. We arrived back atg 6:30 pm,ordered pizza,had blewberry pie and special coffee. What a great day!
Feb. 6th
Sunny day 21 Deg. C. We went grocery shopping in the morning,Ralph got a hair cut. The rest of the day we spent swimming and laying around the pool. Very relaxing day.
